Club Equipment

The Wyandotte Boat Club owns a selection of singles, pair/doubles, quads, four and eight oared shells, along with numerous sets of blades for both sweep rowing and sculling. Through a long standing agreement, the Boat Clubs summer programs also use the high school equipment. In return the club allows the high schools free storage and use of the Clubs equipment and facilities. Inside the shell house you will find the newest and most up to date equipment. The shell house stores numerouse Vespoli, Hudson, Kashper, Empacher, Van Dusen, and Pocock shells.

Oars

Within the Club's new facility are two specially disigned indoor rowing tanks. The tanks are used by all of the rowing programs for technique and style training. They have been shown to be of great benifit in the training of novice rowers. During the off season, the tanks are rented by the hour to outside schools and universities. University of Michigan Mens Heavy Weight Crew has used the for the last three years along with a number of other schools throughout the state.

The Club ownes its own truck and trailer for the transportation of shells to various regattas around the United States and Canada. The Truck is used throughout the rowing seasons by the high schools and the clubs summer and fall programs. Through the winter, the truck and trailer are stored in our heated facility room where it is maintained for the upcoming rowing season.

The new facilities Ergometer Room is equiped with 26 new Ergs, nine of which were purchased this year by the W.B.C. Foundation. The Foundation is a tax deductable entity that raises funds to assist the Club with its many programs. Over the last six years the Foundation has raised thousands of dollars through the dedicated efforts of a group of members who worked a weekly bingo.

Across the hall from the Erg Room is a fully equiped Weight Room. The room has many weight machines specific to rowing excersizes and a full set of free weights.

The second floor of the facility contains this spacious meeting room and bar along with a conference room, offices, out door patio, riverside viewing deck, and storage.
